The First Prototype

The first prototype was not beautiful.

There were no finished illustrations.

No polished cards.

No cinematic website.

Just printed paper, sleeves, handwritten notes and a lot of crossed-out ideas.

I played the first few games with my partner.

The feedback was brutally honest.

Fear accumulated too slowly.

Cards felt too expensive.

Some turns were exciting.

Others stalled completely.

Oddly enough, hearing what did not work was one of the most exciting moments of the project.

Because it meant something important.

LIMINAL had stopped being an idea.

It had become something we could actually play.

Now the real work begins.
